* Bangladesh caused one of the biggest upsets of the 2007 World Cup by defeating India and being instrumental in their early elimination. This is the only time they have faced each other in a World Cup match. Tamim Iqbal was the batting hero while Mashrafe Mortaza was the man-of-the-match for his bowling
* Since then, Bangladesh have lost seven matches on the trot to India, all of them in the sub-continent, the closest margin being by five wickets.
* Bangladesh's recent form record (WWWLW) and eight wins out of their last 10 matches yielding results, including their 4-0 win against New Zealand at home, has been one of their best runs making them feel very confident, playing at home.
* India's recent form record (LLWWL) is not as inspiring in ODIs for the team ranked the number one Test nation. However, with the side decimated by injuries, they were praised for their spirited performance in South Africa .
